On behalf of Dragados:
We are writing to inform you of the temporary closure of St Fittick’s Road between its junctions with Pentland Crescent and Coast Road; and Coast Road between its junction with St Fittick’s Road and Nigg Waste Water Plant. Works are expected to be completed, weather permitting, between Monday 25th November at 6:00hrs and Friday 29th November at 22:00.
The diversion for drivers heading south, towards Altens and Cove, will be Balnagask Road (and alternatively Girdleness Road), from where they will be able to turn south on to Wellington Road. On the other hand, drivers who wish to head north towards Torry and City Centre will need to turn east on to Harness Road and head north along Wellington Road.
Once completed, these works will subsequently enable the opening of the realigned traffic lanes over this section of the road and the removal of the traffic lights currently in place. This will significantly reduce restrictions and waiting times for motorists.
There will be road signage displaying diversion routes for road users during this closure. See below for the location of the road closure and diversions.
This temporary closure is critical to ensuring the health and safety of the public during these road works, as part of the Aberdeen Harbour Expansion Project. We appreciate that it may cause you some disruption and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Community Liaison Team at the Aberdeen Harbour Expansion Project will continue to keep the public informed through letter drops, quarterly newsletter and website updates.
