As in previous years the school is taking part in the Rotary Shoebox Appeal this year which aims to create packages for children, teenagers and adults who do not have access to the same essential items as we do. Mr Donald’s Primary 3 class has kindly offered to help organise the distribution of boxes and the collection and packing of goods. Each class will be receiving an empty shoebox that we hope will be filled with new and unused items kindly donated by the children and families from our school as detailed below. Anything donated must not be larger than an A5 sheet of paper as it will not fit inside the box. No food items can be accepted.
Boxes can be filled with:
- Children’s items such as toys such as ‘Matchbox’ type toy cars, small bouncy balls, jigsaws, fluffy toys, dolls, colouring books, felt tip pens, pencils, stickers, Lego, yoyo’s, bubbles, etc.
- Teenagers’ and adults’ items such as make-up, toiletries, socks, scarf, gloves, hat, writing materials, deodorants, comb, mirror, football memorabilia, notebooks, books, etc.
- Household items such as hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, envelopes, writing paper, biro pens, notebooks, etc.
If you would like to donate anything from the above list of items then please send this into school with your child before Friday 9th November in order that classes can get their shoeboxes filled and ready for collection.
We appreciate and thank you for any support you can give us with this appeal.
